Emily C. Laskowski was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She has served as an editor, managing editor, deputy editor, and freelance writer for several newsstand magazines and trade publications since 2013. Prior to her editorial career, Emily led communications for a variety of corporate, nonprofit, and statewide organizations. She can trace her family’s Texas history over more than four generations to places such as Del Rio, Brackettville, Cuero, and Anahuac. She now lives in Dallas, where she explores the terrain of North Texas with her husband, three children, and adopted dog, Dobby.
