Discover Greatwood: A Planned Community Near Houston

Greatwood is located off U. S. Highway 59 about twenty-four miles southwest of Houston and five miles south of Sugar Land in northeastern Fort Bend County. The planned community of 2,050 acres began about the late 1980s or early 1990s and is a project of developer Newland Communities. Amenities include a civic center, country club, golf course, and other recreation facilities. In 2000 Greatwood had a population of 6,640.
