Kimberly Peña
Kimberly Peña was born in Oklahoma and raised just north of the Red River. A lifelong enthusiast of history, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in History from Cameron University in 2008 and her Master’s degree in Education Policy and Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2018.
Kimberly spent 15 years in public education serving as a secondary history teacher, instructional coach, and social studies coordinator before joining the team at TSHA. She is passionate about creating social studies learning experiences that are accessible and equitable for all Texas students.
She currently resides south of Austin with her husband and two sons. In her free time, she enjoys reading, sewing, and photography.
