Discover Piney: A Hidden Gem in Austin County

Piney is a small rural community located on Farm Road 529 about five miles east of Bellville in eastern Austin County. The settlement was probably named for nearby Piney Creek and may have begun during the first half of the twentieth century. No population figures were available until 2000 when the census reported fifty residents.
