Discover Tierra Bonita: A Growing Community in Cameron County

Tierra Bonita is located about ten miles northwest of Harlingen and just outside the Santa Rosa city limits in northwestern Cameron County. This primarily Hispanic residential community probably began in the 1990s. The first population figures were available in 2000 when the census reported 160 residents. Tierra Bonita is part of the Santa Rosa Independent School District.
