Melissa Sandefer oversees the operations and management of Sandefer Oil and Gas, Inc., where for the past decade she has continued her late husband’s legacy and guided the company’s energy interests with a focus on integrity, stewardship, and responsible development.
Her career spans more than two decades in corporate leadership, human resources, and organizational strategy. Before entering the energy sector, she served as a consultant with William M. Mercer, co-authoring a published article on executive compensation, and later as Director of Human Resources at United Way, where she strengthened board and community engagement.
A native of Houston, she earned both her Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston. She serves on the boards of the Texas State Historical Association Women’s Legation Committee, Sooners Helping Sooners, and the Independent Women’s Forum’s Center for Energy and Conservation.
